Come back to read more about HBMS's new
Second Apprentice, Glenda Turner.
,
Kim Mosny, HBMS Senior Midwife says that,
.

"Glenda and I just "clicked" right from the very beginning! She's

a gentle spirit with a mindfulness that brings soothing, confidence

and calm affirmation to everything she does. Her desire to serve

and help is a tremendous asset to our practice."

Glenda was recently "promoted" to a Primary Midwife Under Supervision, meaning she is now ready to begin more extensive clinical training
and the opportunity to "catch" babies under the mentorship of
HBMS senior midwife, Kim Mosny, CPM, LM.

Glenda Turner, PMUS
HBMS Apprentice

I am a home birthing, home schooling mom to six, beautiful, smart, talented people (Sarah, Pete, Charlie, Ruby, Mattie Hill & Captain) and married to my partner and friend, Jay Turner.

At Virginia Commonwealth University, I majored in Philosophy with a minor in Religious Studies and received my certification as a legal assistant (CLA) at
the University of Richmond.

For more than 14 years, I have been an active member of Richmond's natural birth and parenting community.  I began attending women in birth professionally in 2005 after receiving  my doula training with ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators).

I have been studying midwifery for the last three years with the goal of becoming a Certified Professional Midwife. I am currently working with Kim Mosny, CPM,
as Primary Midwife Under Supervision (PMUS), actively
"catching babies" at this time.

I am a Second Degree Reiki Practioner and a Bach
Flower Remedy Specialist.

I am Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR certified.

Member of:

"Glenda was my midwife for my first pregnancy, and she is now an invaluable friend. When I was first introduced to Glenda, I thought 'Oh, Glenda the Good Witch" and it turns out that she really was a fantastically positive and helpful guide through the crazy 'OZ' that pregnancy can feel like sometimes. Glenda truly embodies 'mothering the mother' and her gentle hands match her kind heart.
"Glenda is an open, compassionate, and knowledgeable midwife. Because of her care and intuition I was able to work through the ups and downs of pregnancy and birth, on my journey towards motherhood. She genuinely loves and cares for her clients and boldly encourages self-education and assertion of your rights as the patient over your own body. With Glenda I felt comfortable and understood.
"The personalized care that I recieved was more than I ever expected, and was what I needed from my care providers. I can not imagine having another child without my midwives."
